Want a bigger role in conference?

Want to make new friends and be part of a close knit, hard-working and fun team?

Want to be part of the team that makes federal conference happen?

THEN JOIN US!

If you've never attended before, want to experience a different side to conference, or simply fancy the look of our oh-so flattering yellow shirts, why not come along as part of our Stewards Team?

Our fantastic team of stewards ensures the smooth-running of conference by helping with security, coordinating the auditorium, looking after our guests, assisting with registrations and much, much more! So if you're keen to get more involved, we'd love to have you on board. Please visit www.libdemstewards.co.uk to find out more.

Here's what a few of our team have to say about being a Lib Dem Steward:

Sarah"Having been a steward for over fifteen years, I have made many friends and particularly enjoyed being part of a large family of friends and colleagues. I have enjoyed taking on a number of different roles, from sitting by a door checking badges to working on the auditorium platform and now working with the diplomats and VIPs - all these roles have been interesting, at times challenging, but always worthwhile."

Kevan"Thanks to being a Conference Steward I have met and I'm now recognized by David Steel, Paddy Ashdown, Charles Kennedy, Ming Campbell, Nick Clegg, Simon Hughes and so many more. I lobbied Parliament with my Trade Union a few years ago and was called a name dropper after introducing work colleagues to Lord Greaves, Don Foster MP, John Pugh MP and Baroness Harris, all of whom were simply passing by and stopped when they saw me.

I could, of course, highlight the less glamorous side, like walking miles round in circles stuffing papers into delegate packs while feeling absolutely dreadful, thanks to the late night session in the Bar the night before, but I won't. What I will say is that there is something special about being part of one of the largest Political Conferences in the UK and being able to support the Party I joined all those years ago."

Dave"I work in the fringe hotels to keep everybody happy and I enjoy winding Adrian Beavis up!!

Being a steward is really good if it's your first conference and you don't know what it's all about. You see behind the scenes and meet the people who run it with you. In a steward's shirt you will have no hassle meeting new people as they will always want to talk to you! If you enjoyed the first time, you will want to do it again!"
